Transcript	[All differences in spelling are the authors] West Point April 15, 63 Dear Shepp Your very kind letter was received this evening and I assure you it was indeed a most welcome missive. You requested I should not read it to anyone and I walked right strate [sic] to Gramma's and read it to her. You see I regard all such requests. She cried off [sic] course and asked me to say to you that you must come Saturday and Cousin Willie must come with you, and she also said she did not want to see you without him now if you want to make yourself a welcome guest you had better not come without him. You asked if George had gone. She left the next day she said she came for me, after much persuasion & consented to go & just as we were
