At Hallie's Jan 17th 1864
Mr A. W. Feemster
My Own Darling Husband
As Capt. Worrell & Cady together with Aunt Bettie expect to pass through Selma I thought it would probably be the best opportunity that I had have soon of writing to you by hand. I received your letter from Meridan last Tuesday eve. & the Thread Thursday - am much obliged but fear you did not leave yourself enough funds to pay your expenses on your lengthened trip. I said something about it to Emma & she suggested the idea that if you needed money you could sell your watch I felt easier then. I am sorry you were detained wished that you had staid until Monday. But wishes & regrets are alike vain. No doubt the hand of Providence was in it. He sees not as we see.
