Dearest Loulie;
After waiting one of the most tedious weeks of my life for a letter, I am again seated, trying to write. I received yours of last Sunday on Tuesday and thought you�d write again soon after getting to Enterprise. Wrote you the same day you wrote. I worked Monday till noon, and have not been able to work since. Am writing now with my pencil between my thumb and middle finger, though my rising is very much improved in the last two days. Have been trying to be cheerful, and thought I succeeded very well; but this evening a feeling of gloom and despondency has crept over me in spite of my efforts to the contrary.
Since writing the above, I have heard a good sermon from bro. Ransom on James 4:7. While he was preaching we had a fine refreshing shower of rain, and it is still raining steady. This is the first rain we've had since you left
