I must confess, I am no advocate for epistolary communication on important and intricate matters, when they can be communicated otherwise, there are cases though, when they are admissible, and I think this is one, because of the great inclination of persons to make remarks on the the slightest? pretext, and I fear you are not prepared to brook such; as regards my self, such would have but little weight, or in any way intimidate me, with much respect for your natural sensibility; and proper regard, as to the relations, we sustain to each other, and to life, I desire to make one small request to you
