My Dear daughter
I was glad to receive your kind letter yesterday and that you were well and with your Pa old friends. I was sorry you had such a bad time a getting thiere [sic]. Sue had a fine daughter this morning and seems to be doing very well. Speaks of calling it Betty William, but have not determined it favers Clemme very much. She is so fond of it she cannot let it rest. I came up Saturday morning with Thomas he had quarterly meeting here Saterday and Sunday but I do not heare anything talked about but war the president has ordered three thousand men from this state. Dr. Parker is expecting to go. Sue is very much troubled about it. She says she cannot stay heare. I do not know what will be done. I am afraid your Bud will go and Benson and Doc. I have not heard from them cince I left and thay had not get the war news then. I heard today that Stuart had come back and was trying to make up a compiny. I do not know
