Having a moments leisure, I ? to write to you to Say we are out of the Union and are foreigners at last I suppose you are still in the United States. We have a Convention and a Legislature both Sitting at this time in our town and we hear of stirring times in South Carolina and Some little stir in your State (N.C.) Cannot tell what will be the result of the present state of affairs I do not know of any thing that will interest you now than to inform you that Miss Lane has taken a school in Madison County and has left your house at last I hope to stay, forever. I am glad you have found such a Sweet Companion do you have fun together like you and sir godfrey use to have You may find a gold dollar enclosed sally
