Your last favour of the 8th Inst was recd several days ago, enclosing your President's Card of your good conduct at school &c. which I was very glad to hear, it affords me always a great pleasure to hear that your conduct is good & that you are improving in your Studies. We are all well & getting along about as usual. I was in town yesterday. All your Relatives there were well, your Uncle Hardgrove has not yet returned from La, but is expected in 8 or 10 days. I recd another letter from your Uncle Fed of the same date of yours, he & Father were well as well as all the rest of our Relatives there. He said he had never recd a letter from you yet. Your Cousin Mary Hedges wishes me to let her have the Silk Dress, your Ma gave you & requested your Aunt Eliza to keep for you & she (Mary Hedges) says she will give you another, when you come home, & says that one will spot & get spoilt before you will need it. I told her that as your Ma wished you to have it, that I would not consent for her to have it, unless you said so, and as your Ma wished you to have
