We the undersigned committee appointed at your last meeting to report a constitution and by laws for the agricultural society of Lowndes Co beg leave to report the following
     We the Planters of Lowndes County feeling that the prosperity and hapiness [sic] of our people are dependent to a great extent upon the success of agriculture, and deploring its present languishing condition, in order to secure a more perfect and remunerative system, concert of action, harmony of interest, and to correct the errors and evils into which we have fallen and promote the general good, do addopt [sic] and establish the following constitution.
     1st  The officers of the society shall be elected, and consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
2nd  The duties of the President shall be to preside at the meetings and enforce such by laws and rules as may be addopted [sic], and in case of a tie vote upon any question to cast the deciding vote
3rd  The duties of the Vice President shall be to discharge the duties of the President in his absence
