This contract made and entered into this, the 6th day of Nov. 1899 by and between C.A. Williams of one part and Wade Wilkes of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said C.A. Williams, party of the first part, has this day rented unto the said Wade Wilkes, party of the second part, for a term of one year, (1900), the following described land, situated in Hinds County, State of Mississippi, to wit: All the land worked by said Wilkes during the year 1899, being 63 acres, more or less, and further described as follows: 30 acres in what is known as the "Carraway new ground," 18 acres

Transcript | This contract made and entered into this, the 6th day of Nov. 1899 by and between C.A. Williams of one part and Wade Wilkes of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said C.A. Williams, party of the first part, has this day rented unto the said Wade Wilkes, party of the second part, for a term of one year, (1900), the following described land, situated in Hinds County, State of Mississippi, to wit: All the land worked by said Wilkes during the year 1899, being 63 acres, more or less, and further described as follows: 30 acres in what is known as the "Carraway new ground," 18 acres [page 2] in the "Big field", commencing at Mr. S. N. Hollingsworth's orchard and running south, also, 14 acres near the "Louis Robinson Spring". The said Wade Wilkes promises and agrees, by his note of even date, herewith, to pay unto the said C.A. Williams, or his order, for rent on the above described land, twenty one hundred pounds (2100 lbs) of lent cotton, ready baled for market and delivered to his order, on or before the 15th day of Oct. 1900. It is further agreed that the said C.A. Williams is to put a stack chimney, new floor and front gallery to said Wilkes' dwelling, provided, that the said Wilkes assists in the labor and hauling of lumber to make said improvements.
