Transcript	[from Lizzie N. Douglas] Calvary Rectory. Feb. 23rd 1882. Dear Cammie, Your more than welcome letter was received some time ago and would have been answered before if I had not been quite so busy. I suppose by this time you are all moved and settled. I hope you like your new home & will be very comfortable there but I know all at Dry Grove must miss you, [page 2] especially at Sunday school for you were all so regular there. I wish you all could have been here during Mardi Gras to have seen all the processions, those at night were very beautiful, the tourches [sic] lighted up every thing so, some of the lights were red & blue which made it still prettier. Monday & Tuesday the streets were full of men, boys & even girls in bright, fancy costumes with masks on so no one could tell who they were, some [page 3] were dressed as monkeys & some as indians with all their war paint & feathers on, they were all very funny & made the children laugh. Has Mrs. Sarah Stewart left the Grove yet? I have not heard from her for some time. Our Sunday school here is doing well, last Sun. there were 97 present. I have such a nice class of little girls. I am getting very found [sic] of them but every Sun. I think of the girls that were in my class at home & [page 4] wish I was back there in the dear little Church with them all. I don't think I will ever like them so much as I did Mary & Cora & the others of my class. As last Wednesday was Ashwenesday [sic] or the first day of Lent Papa had service twice & will have service every day all throught as we are so near the Church & can always go so we enjoy it very much. All our choir here are boys, they were [sic] white surplices like Papa's only [remainder missing]
