Transcript	Crystal Springs, Miss. May 9, 1894 My dearest Hattie: No doubt you think I have forgotten you or do not intend writing. They are so busy I do not know when they are going to town until they are ready to go. Let me tell you I went to a party not long since the first place I had been since I have been down here. never [page 2] had a nicer time in my life. Since I last wrote I have found me the nicest sweet-heart he certainly loves fun he has for the last four or five week been painting our nearest neighbor's house. He came down one night and caugh [sic] me with an old wrapper on my sleeves up. he says my ears backed. I never see him but he dont [sic] laugh at me about it. You can tell me more a bout [sic] Mr Pope than I can you but I heard the other [page 3] day he had shaved. This is his old stamping ground. Every body out here knows Mr. Pope. I went the other day to here [sic] Mr Farrer preach; one of his appointments is a bout [sic] mile half from here. That evening a crowd of us went to hear him preach to the Darkies. Has Miss Janet carriet Ebb. any more "pies"? I am surprised at him I thought he woud [sic] have gotten a better looking "Young Lady" to flirt with. [page 4] I never want to [go] back to Raymond it is a detestable place to me. No I never see Mr. Casper. I saw him the night before we left town. I hear Joe Hollingsworth and Julia Jones married last Sunday in the church. I have had the tooth ache for a week or so I have blistered my mouth with Carbolic acid. Ernest has just hollered and told me to give you his best love Scraped [page 5] in a shack. [?? Portion missing?] What has become of Dan? is he still at home? They have called me to dinner. please excuse untill [sic] this eve. Well I have eaten a awful dinner and am nearly dead. While I was at dinner I rec'd such a nice boquet [sic], but it was not near as nice as I got last week. what made them so nice is was [sic] the giver. [page 6] How is Cousin Laura and Mr Dickson making it? I believe he and Uncle Arch are coming out here this or next week. Some of the young men went fishing the other night next morning here came a little boy with some nice fish for us girls. Who do you reckon I saw the other day. Mr Vance Carson, he used to live with Mrs. Wells. He is living in the Springs. If possible I will with the greatest pleasure make you [page 7] a visit this Summer. I will be disappointed if you do not come out to see us. There is not very much pleasure in the neighborhood every body is two [sic] good for any thing but to go to church. Please excuse this letter my pen is so bad and I am so nerveous [sic] to day. As there is no news I reckon I had better close With much love to all-. Write real soon. Do not do like I have waited a month to write. Lovingly, Lola.
