Transcript	Forest, Miss- Jan. 26th, 1890 Dearest old Girl: I'm very much pleased to note the recpt. of your darling missive of late date. Had given up all hopes of ever hearing from you any more, guess your precious time is too much occupied chatting that remarkably dignified young Prof. You need not make your boasts-we have one of the cutest and smartest [page 2] Profs-it has ever been my luck to meet. (excepting Whitworth's Prof-he cant [sic] be beat-can he?) I have a photo of our Prof-he brought it to me last Tuesday night, and tis a fine large darling. I'm desperately in love with him but am afraid t'is all lost. You remember Minnie Hoskins of Brookhaven? She is an assistant in Prof's school and I'm confident, right there, all his affections are centered-t'is heart-rendering [sic] for me. I'm actually in love with him- [page 3] Say Hattie, do you know you are my only confidential friend? Cant [sic] you return the honor, and impose in me your many secrets? To return to the subject, I want you to say something abt. our Prof, so I can show him your letter-he thinks you write an awfully cute hand, but dont [sic] say any thing about it in yr. letter. I received an awfully cute letter from as cute a boy, in Meridian today insisting that I correspond with him. I [page 4] have four young gentlemen correspondants [sic] and I don't like the idea of adding the 5th to my list. But he is so cute, t'is hard to resist. His name is J.D. Pevey, no relation to the one I was wont to talk about at school-a different and junior stock altogether. I've met him only once, and that was at Sam Jones' meeting in Meridian. Tell me all about the little fellow that displays such an amount of conceit [remainder missing]
