Dry Grove Sep 15th 1913 My dear Child, I hasten to answer your letter you are mistaken in my assigning a part of my interest to some firm of lawyers over in Texas to bring suit to contest Billie's will. I have never signed a paper of any kind, I wrote Dan Banks he could do as he thought best about the case I thought that if the lawyers would take it for half I did not care because if I got anything out of it I would feel that it was just like picking it up in the road

I wrote Dan the other day if there was a first will to get a copy of it and send it to me and I would pay for it but I have never employed a lawyer, I sent you Dans [sic] letter and also the copy of the one he wrote me to send him that Billie wrote me, I have not made myself responsible for any debt. I also wrote Dan that I wanted to know all about what he was doing, you see he never said what Law firm or what he had promised the lawyer so I know very little, but Dan seems to know that there is a first will When I get answer to the letter I wrote Dan I will send it to you With Love Mama |
