Egypt. Dec. 13th 1891
Your long, sweet letter was much enjoyed and appreciated dear "Sister of Me"; was really a feast to the heart, and our thanks are also due, for your last, addressed to Mr. H. For our Christmas gifts you may feel assured we are most grateful, and tenderly aware of the loving remembrance which prompted them. We hope you will allow us to do something for you some day, who certainly ought to be able to do ourselves a pleasure if you are Ma Soeur [?]! Mamie was most pleased to attempt you a needle-book, and it is to be hoped you will take the "will for the deed"[.] Without ingenuity, or material we can do little. She and I have squandered ever so much time looking over the Catalogues at the pretty things suited for the Season, and wishing for them to present to our dear ones. I think of you, dear child, with nearly every hour that passes, and never do I close my eyes, without committing you to the care of our Heavenly Father, & praying His blessings upon your head.
