Transcript	W.T.C. Miss. Jan. 4, 1890. My dear Sister: Well if I want to hear from you while I am here I guess I had better write first, or you will never write to me. I bet a "yankee dime" you write to Cam oftener than to me. By the way I received a letter from Mary Doorot today, and on the back of it was "Howdy sic" I know very well who wrote it and I am going to send him word that [page 2] I am not his "sis" yet and not likely to be soon, he thinks he is so smart any way. Say have you seen Lou since she left home, I would give any thing to see that baby, I dreamed about her last night, dreamed that Lou wouldn't call her Eloise. Have you seen Mr. Parsons since I left[?] I should of said that "lazy man"[.] Who knows he may be your uncle yet, when he gets to be that near kin[.] If you are you going to kiss him? I would give any thing in this world if I was only at home tonight. [page 3] One week to night we was all asking riddles. Did you make any resolutions on the first day of this near year? I made three, one was I am to read a chapter in the bible every night and say my prayers. I know I can do that but for the others I can't tell but I am only going to try. I don't believe we will ever hear from home again. I wrote to Laura today & sent her the floww. Have you had your new dress made? I know it is going to be real pretty, for I thought the material was just beautiful. I heard to-night that Miss [page 4] Brown was going to marry next week but I know it is not true, her sister was married last Wednesday. I don't think Miss Brown could find any body to have her, if she is smart. I borrowed Tennyson's Poems to read, but know I will never read any thing in it as am not stuck on his poems at all. Will write more tomorrow, Good night. Sunday morning Well I reckon you and Prof Tyler will go out to hear Mr. Roberts, I am quite anxious to hear him. You must write and tell us all about him. We had fried pig feet for [top margin of page 1] breakfast but not fried in batter. I guess I had better quit or you will not answer it. Lovingly, M.
