Built in 1929, the Lloyd-Ricks-Watson building is one of the
historic landmarks on Mississippi State campus. This is the
first renovation done to the building since the addition of the
east wing in 1939. The building bears the name of the three
men who served both as director of the Experiment Station and
Extension Service, Edward R. Lloyd Jr., James R. Ricks, Vance H.
Watson.
Watson’s name is being added to the building by the state
legislature in recognition of his 42 years of service to the
university. Watson held numerous other positions at MSU
including interim president, vice president for the Division of
Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine and dean of the
College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
The Lloyd-Ricks-Watson building is home to the School of Human
Sciences and the Department of Agricultural Economics.
