Dear Mother I have improved considerably since you left us. And hope that by taking every possible pains I may continue to improve. The ballance are all well. I send you by the mail a daily paper. It is out very late date but as you say you get no papers now it may have some news for you. I have heard no news since you was with us except what you will find in the paper I send. The new troops raised under the last requisition of our Gov. at Meridian have Organized a Reg. and Elected Drury Brown Coln. There is nearly enough men there besides to make another Reg. Hurrah for Mississippi and above all for the Great County of Copiah. She has nearly two thousand men in the Army. Tell Arch to never give up to a bad feeling.
Yours Affectionately A. Shaw
