I think you will come to the conclusion to lay in all your plantation stores in this place; it will be much to your interest in the long run.- I hardly think it worthwhile to give Mr. Mound a discretionary order to sell your Cotton in Mississippi. This market is every way preferable, & nine times out of ten, your Cotton would produce more here than with you and as I have previously written you, everything depends on the quality of the staple itself. I sold some Cotton last year from Ouachita at 12½¢ per pound, & could have done the same for you, had yours been equal in quality. I would strongly recommend to you, to send your Cotton to this place in lots of 10 to 15 Bales as soon as picked & bailed up - the sooner the better; -for as the season ad
