New Orleans 6 January 1841 Mr. Aaron Spell Livingston Miss., Dear Sir, I had this pleasure on the 25th of Dec'r last; since which time, I have received from Robson & Allen per steamer Tchula, 30 bales of your Cotton. On examination, the Cotton was leafy, stained & of a bad colour.- & I could get no offer till yesterday when I was glad to close the lot at eight cents per lb. The news from Europe is decidedly unfavorable, & I would again impress on your mind the advantage of immediate shipments for Cotton must experience a further decline before long. - I refer you to my letter of 25th Dec'r last, wherein I mentioned that as soon as I received a letter from you containing a list of the articles you may want for your plantation, I would forward them by the first opportunity. Good & fine qualities of Cotton sell now at 10¢ to 11½ ¢ Fair @ 9½¢ Middling & fair @ 9½¢ Good Middling @ 8¢ Cotton generally ? @11½ ¢ Very Respy. Yours, A.M. Nathan. [Pa
