(1) To stimulate g r e a t e r i n t e r e s t i n t h e love f o r t h e farm home b~ making it more canfortable, more convenierrt and more b e a u t i f u l . To increase p r i d e i n t h e farm home,, t h e comunity, t h e county, t h e s t a t e , and t h e nation, of farm l i f e .

Railroad i s cooperating ~ 5 t h . the Extension Division of Mississippi S t a t e College by o f f e r i n g $3700,00 i n cash p r i z e s , I n order f o r r e s i d e n t s of any of t h e 36 counties above mentioned t o engage i n t h i s contest, it i s necessary t h a t t h e r e be a t l e a s t 25 e n r o l l e e s from t h a t county. Further, before any farm family from a s i n g l e county can compete f o r t h e p r i z e awards, it w i l l be required t h a t a t l e a s t 1 5 of t h e contestants who l i v e i n t h a t county complete t h e i r record and make a score of a t l e a s t 600. A l l of t h e judging i s t o be done on a score card b a s i s . The following p r i z e s w i l l be given i n each county t h a t q u a l i f i e s : $40.00 f o r t h e f i r s t prize, $30.00 f o r t h e second prize, $20.00 f o r t h e t h i r d prize, and $10.00 f o r t h e fourth p r i z e ,

Any contestant n o t winning a f i r s t place county award i n 1951 i s e l i g i b l e t o receive both a county award plus a s t a t e sweepstake award. For example, a f i r s t place county winner ( n o t a previous f i r s t place winner i n 1951) can receive $40,00 f o r her county p r i z e plus $60.00 sweepstake award f o r a t o t a l of $100.00.
