Description	"Circa 1903-1908 In 1903 the Type Z replaced the Royal as the lowest cost ($20.00) talking machine in the Victor lineup. In July, 1905 a new Type Z utilizing the cabinet and motor of the Victor I was announced at the even lower price of $17.00. The new more powerful single-spring motor could play several of the new 8-inch size records per winding on it 8-inch turntable, and was an attractive alternative for those people who didn't care about the added feature of the tapering tone arm on the Victor I.
