Description	"The Columbia Type B gramophone was known as the Eagle because it cost $10. The $10 gold piece was known at the time as the Eagle, so the phonograph acquired the same name. This machine has a nickel plated horn, key wind with open motor and floating reproducer. The reproducer is the circular device into which one inserts the steel needle. A machine's sound is only as good as its reproducer. Vibrations from the record grooves are transferred from the stylus via a stylus bar or linkage to the center of a diaphragm which vibrates and generates the actual sound.
